REDMOND, WA—April 29, 2020—Sasha’s Pet Resort (www.sashaspr.com), Redmond’s newest cage-free doggy daycare and overnight boarding facility, announced today that during the month of May, all area first responders (police, fire, EMT) and hospital personnel (nurses, doctors, aides and sanitation) are entitled to free doggie daycare.  Available on a first-come, first-serve basis, the first 30 dogs owned by first responders/hospital personnel, will be afforded free doggie daycare during the month.

“Having remained open as an ‘essential’ business during these uncertain times,” said Dan McFadden, owner of Sasha’s Pet Resort, “we have seen our daycare traffic diminish significantly due to workers and children sheltering in place.  As a result, Sasha’s is eerily quiet.  Candidly, we miss the sound of barking dogs and came to the conclusion that we could help our area first responders by providing them with shelter for their dogs as they are out on the front lines helping protect all of us from COVID-19.  It’s the least we can do.”

As with Sasha’s regular customer base, before a first-responder dog can be accepted for daycare at Sasha’s, they must first undergo a free 30-minute temperament assessment in which these dogs demonstrate the ability to peacefully co-exist with the other dogs at Sasha’s.  As well, owners are required to provide written evidence of up-to-date vaccinations to include DHLPP, Bordetella and Rabies.  Dogs over the age of six months must be spayed or neutered, unless a veterinarian’s statement is provided that explains why this procedure has been delayed.  Finally, all dogs need to be participating in a flea and tick prevention program.  To schedule the free temperament assessment, phone Sasha’s at (425) 869-4430.  Dogs that successfully pass this assessment can be scheduled for regular daycare at Sasha’s.
